I have been artistic my whole life, fostered by a family full of artists, builders, and makers. Originally from Boston, I've spent the past decade on California's Central Coast with my husband and twin boys, where I'm constantly inspired by the area's natural beauty.

I live with a lot of energy and curiosity. I love trying new things, learning new skills, and challenging myself to turn an idea into something tangible, useful, and beautiful.

Shield Maiden Creations grew from all of that: years of exploring materials and textures, making pieces for my own home, creating gifts for people I love, and helping others create more organized, functional spaces.

Organization has always been part of that same creative instinct. As a textbook Virgo, I can't help but notice when a space could work better — and I love helping people turn cluttered, frustrating areas into spaces that feel organized, functional, and easy to maintain. For years, I have helped family and friends across the country organize their homes and make better use of their spaces. During COVID, I began writing an organization book, which I continue to develop and hope to publish soon.

Around the same time, our family moved to a home in the mountains with more room to create, which opened the door to woodworking. I started with a 16-foot live-edge redwood table and benches for our patio, then expanded into smaller pieces like vases, necklace holders, cat trees, record holders, and other custom items for our home.

My friends and family have been loving my stained-glass plants in custom made wooden or ceramic vases, as well as my other art projects, so I decided it was time to make my creations publicly available.

The name Shield Maiden came from a beach bonfire years ago. While setting up the firepit, I was vigorously digging by hand when a friend laughed and called me a shield maiden. The nickname stuck — and over time, it came to represent the energy, strength, creativity, and hands-on spirit behind everything I make.
